Eat Like A Peasant And Feel Like A King
Nutrition has played a very important part in my life even prior to my coming to the United States. In the United States, people pay too much of attention to what to eat, and when to eat. Furthermore, coming to America forced me to keep track of what I eat, and when I eat more and it also made me realize what I had before I came to affluence country. I was raised in a country where everything you eat is organic and no one ever talks about conventional foods. watching the movie "Supersize Me" in health class back in high school, taught me the more people eat unhealthy food the closer people get to risk of heart disease, obesity, and hypertension. That undeniable fact compelled me to promised myself never to eat any fast food or processed food at all. Sometimes it is really hard to suppress the temptations of the unhealthy food but remembering its danger and side effects helps me stick to my decision.

I was raised Nairobi Kenya, where people plant their food or do their grocery shopping every morning. When it comes to animals people are assured that their animals were raised in a good farm and someone like them slaughter the animals and not a machine. As for my case my uncle himself was a butcher and that assured me not to worry about the meat I was eating. It's rare in Nairobi to see anyone putting any fruits or vegetables in the fridge over nights. In contrary, people get their freshly harvested fruits and vegetables straight from the farmer's shop.

After coming to the affluence land of America I try to eat as much organic food as I used to but it's not easy to do that because all the processed food are easy to get and affordable. Even though I want to buy organic foods the price stops me.Organic foods are not available in a lots of supermarkets I go to, such as Aldi, Wal-Marts and Target, and they are very expensive. Now that I can't afford to buy organic food only I try to buy third of processed food and two thirds of organic food.
Is The Food We Are Eating Healthy And Safe

The foods that are available for the consumers are not mostly healthy food. they are a lot of things that are not healthy but they are still been sold as if they were healthy, for instance the advertisement says it's hundred percent healthy but if you read the label it's totally the opposite. Sometime we should be alert of what we are putting into our cart because it says it's organic doesn't mean it's healthy "Organic junk food is still junk food," says my Marion Nestle. If I take the organic cookies as an example just by hearing that people forget the unhealthy recipes such as sugar, and butter that are used for the cookie.
